I have completed the course with the excellent Ministry of Instructional Design, aka Rob Hubbard, on Rapid elearning Design (ReD). It stretched me out of my comfort zone ( a good thing) and there were times when I was unsure if I would get my assignments done but I’m pleased to say that, with a bit of patience on Rob’s side around deadlines, I have now completed.
A bonus for me is that I have finally managed to get some time to look at the beta version of Storyline, the up and coming product from Articulate. There are still a few small bugs that are being ironed out, but overall this authoring tool is looking great for me. It’s very easy to learn and enables me to build interactivity without getting too distracted from the main purpose of the learning. As a non-graphic designer I find that this can be a problem with more complex tools – I can get so carried away with functionality that I forget what the reason for the learning is in the first place. Can’t wait for Storyline to be launched so that I can get a fully fledged version.
Oh, and click here for a link to my portfolio that documents my experiences on the ReD course (built in PebblePad of course!).
